who we are

Pam Zenkawich - Producer

Pam is a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design  with a degree in Visual Communications.

But don’t let that fool you. She’s also a rock-star producer. After graduation from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1994, Pam studied abroad at the Falmouth School of Art & Design in Cornwall England, Kent State University in Ohio and the Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design in Vancouver.

Using her solid academic creds, Pam made an impressive transition to the Visual Communications community, winning awards in several design annuals (Communication Arts: Design Annual (x2), Applied Arts Annual, AR100: London, UK) during her work for several small and large design firms in both Calgary and Vancouver (Sasges Design Partnership, Signals Design Group Inc., Karo Design Resources Inc. and Ray Mah Design).

In 1999 Pam’s drive and ambition drove her to the next challenge, where she soon recognized that the web and Internet industry was growing and would be the next viable medium to learn. After working with a group of talented people on an online magazine, Pam co-founded Kinky Logic Inc. The need for good design and effective problem solving in the web and Internet industry was apparent. Pam was intrigued by the web and saw the medium as a challenge and one that her already established print skills could be applied to. Pam spent ten years with her nose to the grindstone applying her steadfast work ethic, design background and personable nature to grow her company via a grass roots approach. Because Pam has worn many hats throughout the years while running her own company, she understands the demands of business and has lived the life of an entrepreneur.

After ten years and many awards with Kinky Logic (Gold PAC Award, Design Exchange: Best in Show – Brand Packaging, Lotus Award: Best Self Promotion, Lotus Merit Award, Silver Georgie) it was time to expand the company. In 2009, Pam led the merger of Kinky Logic with Tugboat Media.

An accomplished art director, Pam brings calm, reason and trust to her role as a producer, in part because she gets good design and also because she gets people.

Pam’s artistic interests lie in the creation of compelling uses of typography and imagery as well as classical problem solving through design in its timeless, direct and communicative approach. You will find samples of Pam’s work throughout our portfolio.
